Flance Early Learning Center - Summer Associate VISTA

Flance Early Learning Center provides high‑quality early childhood education that supports the healthy development of children and strengthens families in the St. Louis community. The center integrates nutrition, wellness, and family engagement into its curriculum to ensure children receive comprehensive support during their most critical years of growth. By expanding its capacity in the summer, Flance enhances its ability to serve families, maintain enriching learning environments, and support community‑focused programming.

The key responsibilities of the Summer Associate VISTAs will be:

• Support early childhood classrooms by aiding teachers with daily activities, preparing materials and learning spaces, and helping facilitate enrichment experiences such as music, drama, art, garden activities, and reading in the Believe Project Library.

• Contribute to program operations by helping with classroom projects, events, portfolios, newsletters, and other administrative tasks that strengthen instructional quality.

• Support the Family Partnership Manager and Family Advocate in ensuring all children meet health and enrollment requirements by communicating with parents, maintaining medical and immunization records, and connecting families to needed resources.

• Provide direct support for children’s health needs by accompanying them to on‑site medical and dental appointments, monitoring immunization compliance, and helping uphold Head Start and state health standards.
