Black Girls Do Stem Fund Development VISTA - FT

The Fund Development VISTA will work closely with the Black Girls Do STEM board on fundraising strategies to gain individual donors, corporate sponsors and secure grants. This person will research, implement and manage all fund development systems and work directly with the marketing VISTA to do specific solicitation, stewardship and engagement of donors and funders. Current goal is to reach 200 individual recurring donors, 1 corporate sponsor, and 1- multiyear grant by the end of year 2021. This role is critical to help us alleviate poverty because it helps just focus on securing the funds necessary to work directly within our target demographics at no cost to the families in need.

The mission of Black Girls Do STEM is o trigger an increased curiosity through deliberate education, access and opportunity of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) within the minds of black girls in every community. They offer a day program for middle school aged black girls (grades 6-8) to explore various STEM careers across multiple industries. Students will conduct hands on experiments in workshops designed to have them think and problem solve like real world scientist while creating products and imploring the scientific method .
