The Health Education and Community Clinic Summer Associate VISTA will provide support for some of iFM’s community-based health clinics by assisting with clinic operation and community outreach as well as assisting with the youth health education program. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, our clinics can reach more low-income individuals in need of health services and more efficiently serve our existing patients.
The Multilingual Senior Services VISTA member will provide need-based multilingual assistance to foreign-born seniors in St. Louis across the broad array of services and in tandem with the agency’s social service and legal team.
The Summer Camp Program VISTA will act as the lead camp organizer for the approximately 12 camps that will occur over the 2-month period. They will work with camp instructors, youth, partner organizations, and parents to facilitate a positive, safe, and nourishing camp experience for those in need of services.
The Free Clinic Coordinator VISTA member will build the capacity of two community-based clinics by developing and implementing on-going communication with our partners (a school district and domestic abuse recovery shelter), businesses and media for residents of 63125 zip in LeMay/St. Louis, MO.
As a result of the VISTA member’s service, at-risk youth will learn about renal health, more youth will be engaged and receive medical follow up if they test out of normal range in basic health markers, and develop procedures and systems for educating, testing and following up with youth.
The Communication and Outreach VISTA member will build the capacity of iFM Community Medicine by implementing sustainable processes and activities to promote awareness and donor/volunteer involvement with iFM in St. Louis, MO.
The Youth Programs Summer Associate will support SouthSide Rec program in the Fox Park neighborhood of St. Louis, MO. This project will alleviate poverty by establishing long-term mentoring relationships between at-risk youth and stable adults in their community, increasing social capital and opportunities for upward mobility in the Fox Park area.
The Volunteer & Development Associate VISTA member will build the capacity of Rainbow Village (RBV) by recruiting and leading existing and new volunteer groups in projects that make improvements to accessible community homes and RBV’s accessible, inclusive community center.
The Summer Associate VISTA will work with one-on-one counseling to a diverse group of entrepreneurs from various backgrounds including start-ups and established businesses. The Summer Associate VISTA will support each business applicant in completing a loan application in Justine PETERSEN’s system and also assist entrepreneurs in gathering all required documents.
The Special Events Summer Associate will help build FSC’s operational capacity through special events fundraising.
